The Canadian women’s national team will head to Australia in September for a pair of friendly matches against the host nations of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Australia and New Zealand.
The matches are set to take place on Saturday, September 3 and Tuesday, September 6, with details still to be determined. Australia is currently ranked 12th in the World, while New Zealand is 22nd. Australia lost to the United States in the bronze medal match at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Canada will look to qualify for that World Cup tournament during the 2023 Concacaf W Championship, which they kick off on July 5. Before departing for that competition, Canada will take on South Korea in a home friendly at BMO Field in Toronto on Sunday, June 26.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023, which runs from July 20 to August 20 will feature 32 teams for the first time in tournament history.
