Pacific FC jumped back to the top of the table on Saturday afternoon, beating Valour FC 2-1 on the road thanks to two goals in two minutes from Golden Boot frontrunner Alejandro Diaz.
Matteo de Brienne gave Valour the lead with a header in the first half, following it up with a front flip to celebrate — a lead that they would hold until the 71st minute. After Daniel Ascanio was given a second yellow card for simulation around the hour mark, Pacific got themselves back into the game with Diaz’s first strike — a glancing header after a cross in from Marco Bustos.
Diaz then gave Pacific the lead two minutes and one second later, putting the ball into the back of the net after Kamron Habibullah fired a low pass across the box to him.
Here are some sights and sounds from IG Field in Winnipeg.
