The Canadian women’s national team will be back on home soil in September for a critical 2024 Paris Olympic qualifying match against Jamaica.
On Tuesday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. ET they will host Jamaica at Toronto’s BMO Field for the second leg of the home-and-away qualifying series. The winner of the series will earn a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The away leg of this tie will be played on September 22 in Jamaica.
Canada, the defending Olympic champions, having qualified for the last four tournaments — medalling in the last three. They qualified for this playoff by finishing second at the 2022 Concacaf W Championship, beating Jamaica 3-0 in the semi-finals of that competition.
Jamaica are currently ranked 43rd in the World by FIFA. They will join Canada at this summer’s Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand — their second World Cup qualification. Jamaica has never qualified for an Olympic tournament.
The presale window for tickets will launch on Tuesday, July 18, with the public sale taking place on Friday, July 21. Tickets start at just $15. The match will also be available exclusively on OneSoccer.
The Canadian women’s national team kick off its 2023 World Cup campaign against Nigeria on Thursday, July 20. The final 23-player World Cup roster will be announced on Sunday, July 9 at 1 p.m. ET.
