Forge FC’s Chris Kalongo has been named the Canadian Premier League’s Allstate Goalkeeper of the Month for April 2024.
This means the Hamilton club swept the monthly awards for the first month of the CPL’s 2024 campaign, with Kalongo’s teammate Tristan Borges winning the league’s Player of the Month award, and head coach Bobby Smyrniotis winning the Manager of the Month.

Kalongo has been a crucial part of Forge’s best-ever start to a CPL season, making ten saves and keeping a clean sheet in a road victory over York United. He was also in net for Forge’s home victories over Valour FC and Cavalry FC. His distribution has been fantastic as well, as his 86.57 per cent pass accuracy is the best of any goalie in the league this season.
At just 22 years of age, it has been an especially impressive start to the season for Kalongo considering he had just 210 minutes of professional experience prior to this year.
