CS Mont-Royal Outremont rounds out 2024 League1 Canada Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship field

The fourth and final entrant in the 2024 League1 Canada Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship was confirmed on Saturday, when CS Mont-Royal Outremont claimed a 2-1 victory over CF Montréal in the Ligue1 Québec Féminin final and clinched its place as the province’s representative at the national championship in Hamilton, Ont. next weekend.

Midfielder Eva Bouity and forward Allana Oriente each scored for CS Mont-Royal Outremont as the squad defeated 2023 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship finalist Montréal to claim the Ligue1 Québec title.

The victory by CS Mont-Royal Outremont means three of the four teams competing at this year’s third iteration of the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship will be new to the competition. League1 Ontario representative NDC Ontario and League1 Alberta representative Calgary Blizzard will also make their first appearances at the competition, which will take place on Friday, Aug. 9 and Saturday, Aug. 11 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton. Defending champions Whitecaps FC Girls Elite, the League1 BC representative for the second year running, will round out the competition’s four-team field.

CS Mont-Royal Outremont will face NDC Ontario in the opening match of the competition, which will kick off at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT on Friday. Whitecaps FC Girls Elite will host Calgary Blizzard in the day’s second semifinal, starting at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT. The matchups were determined last weekend during a live broadcast of Match Night on dedicated soccer channel OneSoccer.

The winners of the two semifinal matches on Friday will advance to the Championship Final on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT, while the other two sides will meet in a third-place match at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT.

All four Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship matches will be broadcast on OneSoccer, available as a linear channel on Optik TV (Ch. 980), the pay-TV service operated by Telus, one of Canada’s “big three” telecoms companies, as well as on streaming service fuboTV Canada and internationally, including Fox Soccer Plus in the United States. OneSoccer is also offered as an affordable streaming service through the OneSoccer.ca website, via Roku, Chromecast and Apple TV devices and with the OneSoccer app for iOS and Android devices. The competition itself will also air on OneSoccer’s YouTube channel.
