Forge FC head coach Bobby Smyrniotis was announced on Wednesday as the Canadian Premier League’s Manager of the Month for September 2024.
Smyrniotis, whose Forge side recently clinched the CPL Shield as regular season title winners, led his team to a 3-0-1 record in September. Forge’s 2.25 points per game was best in the league during the month, with nine total points level with Halifax Wanderers (who achieved the same total in six games).
The Hamilton club picked up huge home wins in September against Cavalry FC and York United, as well as an impressive away victory over Vancouver FC.
This is the second time Smyrniotis has been named Manager of the Month in 2024, after he also won the honour in April. Carlos González (Atlético Ottawa), Patrice Gheisar (Halifax Wanderers), Benjamín Mora (York United) and Tommy Wheeldon Jr. (Cavalry FC) have also earned the award in 2024.
