Canada Soccer announced on Friday the roster of players who have been called up to the men’s national team for the upcoming international window, where Canada will play Suriname in a two-legged Concacaf Nations League quarter-final tie.
Jesse Marsch has named a strong squad, with regular national team stars like Alphonso Davies, Jonathan David and Stephen Eustáquio. The team is also bolstered by the return from injury of a few other key contributors; Ismaël Koné returns to the squad after missing the last two international windows, as do Kamal Miller and Alistair Johnston who were both absent from the team for last month’s Panama friendly. Also in the team for the first time since June 2024 is veteran attacker Junior Hoilett.
Most notable, though, is the return of Inter Milan’s Tajon Buchanan, who is back in the national team setup after suffering a broken tibia in July during Canada’s Copa América campaign.
Canada’s training camp will begin in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. next week before they travel to play the first leg against Suriname in Paramaribo on Friday, Nov. 15 (6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT). They’ll then return home for the second leg at Toronto’s BMO Field on Tuesday, Nov. 19 (7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT).
The winner of this quarter-final tie will head to the Nations League semi-finals, to be played in March 2025 in Inglewood, California.
