CanWNT to take on Iceland and Korea Republic in international friendlies to end 2024

The Canadian women’s national team will return to Spain in late November, but this time they will not be taking on the host nation.

After drawing 1-1 with defending World Cup winners Spain on Oct. 25 in Almendralejo, the Canadian women’s side will be based out of Murcia this time, where they will take on Iceland on Friday, Nov. 29 (1 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT) and Korea Republic on Tuesday, Dec. 3 (Noon ET, 9 a.m. PT) in a pair of international friendlies.

Iceland are currently ranked 13th in the World after finishing second in their UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 qualifying group, which included a stunning 3-0 victory over Germany at home. They are coming off back-to-back 3-1 losses to the United States in October.

Korea Republic, meanwhile, are ranked 19th, and their most recent meeting with Canada ended in a 0-0 draw at BMO Field in June 2022. They were also soundly beaten in their most recent international fixture, however, 4-0 by Japan on Oct. 26.

Canada Soccer revealed on Tuesday that Bev Priestman will not be returning to her role as head coach and that the search for her replacement is already underway.

An announcement on the interim coaching staff, as well as the roster for this upcoming camp, will be revealed soon as well as broadcast details.
