Concacaf has announced the host venues for the 2023 edition of the Gold Cup, which includes Toronto’s BMO Field. It will host Canada’s game against the winner of a preliminary match on June 27.
BMO Field previously hosted a pair of matches during the 2015 edition of the competition. Canada drew Costa Rica 0-0 in Toronto at that tournament, and failed to advance to the knockout stage. Current Atlético Ottawa pair Karl Ouimette and Maxim Tissot started against Costa Rica under then Canada manager Benito Floro.
Eight years later, having finished top of Concacaf World Cup qualifying, and just qualified for the Nations League Finals, this Canada team will be looking for a much better finish at the 2023 edition.
