Canadian Premier League celebrates 2023 Best XI fuelled by Gatorade

The Canadian Premier League (CPL) today unveiled the 2023 CPL Best XI Fuelled by Gatorade, honouring the league’s top players at each position through this year’s entire season, culminating in the 2023 CPL Final. 

Ten of the eleven players named to this year’s Best XI were previously nominated, or finished as finalists, for at least one of the CPL’s end-of-year individual awards, which were handed out as part of the 2023 CPL Final Weekend on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023 in Hamilton, Ont. Cavalry FC defender Daan Klomp took home Defender of the Year and Player of the Year, his teammate Ali Musse was named Players’ Player of the Year and Forge FC goalkeeper Triston Henry earned Golden Glove honours. Atlético Ottawa midfielder Ollie Bassett was also honoured at the event as co-winner of the 2023 Golden Boot award.

The complete 2023 CPL Best XI Fuelled by Gatorade is as follows: 

Goalkeeper: Triston Henry (Forge)

Defenders: Manjrekar James (Forge), Daan Klomp (Cavalry), Daniel Nimick (Halifax Wanderers)

Midfielders: Manny Aparicio (Pacific), Ollie Bassett (Atlético Ottawa), Kyle Bekker (Forge), Lorenzo Callegari (Halifax Wanderers)

Forwards: Béni Badibanga (Forge), Terran Campbell (Forge), Ali Musse (Cavalry)
