CanPL.ca Newsroom: CanWNT celebrations, York & HFX stumble in playoff pursuit

In the latest episode of the CanPL.ca Newsroom, hosts Marty Thompson, Charlie O’Connor Clarke, Kristian Jack, Benedict Rhodes and Emily Wilson recap the beginning of the Canadian women’s national team’s celebration tour starting with their favourite moments (2:50) live from Ottawa with Benedict and Kristian in attendance.

Next up was the ongoing fight for the playoffs in the CPL – starting with York United’s frustrating draw away to Atlético Ottawa Sunday (12:01). Jimmy Brennan’s Nine Stripes drop points again – can they turn it around? Meantime, how about Mista’s Ottawa side who maintains their nice little late run in the season.

Next up was HFX Wanderers and Forge FC’s scoreless draw at Wanderers Grounds (24:55). The gang plays a game of glass half full or empty for a Wanderers side sitting in the fourth and final playoff spot but have failed to do much going forward.

Finally, the quintette turns their attention to Cavalry FC’s 2-1 win over Pacific FC (32:20) — why it was another #EmilyGame, what makes Ben Fisk such an important part of their attack, and much more on a high-flying Cavs team. Plus, what does PFC have to do to right the ship or, as Pa-Modou Kah likes to say, should “Pacific keep being Pacific.”
