After an undefeated August, Cavalry FC’s Tommy Wheeldon Jr. has been named the Canadian Premier League’s Manager of the Month for August 2024.

The two-time Canadian Premier League Coach of the Year led his side to a near-perfect August, with wins over Atlético Ottawa, Halifax Wanderers, York United and Pacific FC, before a 2-2 draw with Valour to end the month. His club scored ten times, conceding six.

Coincidentally, Wheeldon Jr. was also named the league’s Manager of the Month for August of 2023 as his Cavalry side began a nine-match unbeaten run. They will be looking to replicate that incredible run of form as they aim for back-to-back CPL regular season titles.

Wheeldon Jr. is the fifth different coach to be honoured this season, following Forge’s Bobby Smyrniotis (April), Atlético Ottawa gaffer Carlos González (May), Halifax’s Patrice Gheisar (June) and most recently York United’s Benjamín Mora for July.
