Halifax Wanderers defender Daniel Nimick has been named the Canadian Premier League’s Player of the Month for August of 2023.
The 22-year-old central defender scored three goals and was incredibly solid in defence as the Wanderers allowed just three goals in four matches during August, including two clean sheets at home.
Nimick has played every minute for Halifax this season, scoring four goals and adding two assists. He is also one of the league leaders in passes, with 1195 played this season.

Valour FC midfielder Diego Gutiérrez was named the league’s Player of the Month for the first month of the season, April, followed by Pacific FC duo Sean Young (May) and Ayman Sellouf (June). Forge FC captain Kyle Bekker, meanwhile, was the recipient for July.
