Personalities

Armen Bedakian – Associate Editor

What can be said about Armen Bedakian that hasn’t already been written about in tabloids all across Armenia?

The intrepid reporter got his start in the fast-paced world of soccer media covering Toronto FC for MLSsoccer.com, before switching tracks and joining the writing team over at theScore. When word of a Canadian league reached his ears, Bedakian jumped at the opportunity to fulfill his childhood dream of telling Canada’s soccer story.

The rest, as they say, is history … much like Chelsea’s hopes in the Champions League if Eden Hazard joins Real Madrid, a truth that Bedakian won’t shut up about when the topic turns to his treasured Blues.

Marty Thompson – Digital Content Editor

Marty Thompson is a former broadcaster and reporter from London, Ont. who now serves as the Digital Content Editor of CanPL.ca.

Thompson has been covering League1 Ontario and other grassroots levels of the Canadian game for eight years, and is a longtime fan of Derby County, thus demonstrating character traits like patience and empathy in spades. He’ll need it when dealing with his two co-hosts in the middle of a particularly heated discussion or two (or 10).

Thompson plays a ton of Football Manager. He’ll try not to incorporate it into his analysis (no promises), but, in true rural Ontario fashion, the Lion’s Head, Ont. native would also like to apologize in advance.
