Sights and Sounds: Pacific FC 2-0 Cavalry FC

The Canadian Premier League is back on Vancouver Island, in emphatic fashion. Pacific FC took just two minutes to score their first home goal since 2019, thanks to Marco Bustos, as they went on to beat Cavalry FC 2-0 in a triumphant return to Starlight Stadium.

Bustos scored his fourth of the year with a powerful run through the box, and Pacific kept the party going. They thought they’d added a second via Manny Aparicio early in the second half, but the goal was disallowed. Thankfully for the Tridents, though, Gianni dos Santos added the insurance goal in the 88th minute with a gorgeous short-side strike from a difficult angle.

So, Pacific emerged winners from their home opener, and in doing so they gave coach Pa-Modou Kah a pretty good birthday present.

Here are your sights and sounds from an emotional night on Van Isle.
