Ballou Tabla was the hero for Atlético Ottawa on Sunday, as his two goals lifted his side to a 2-1 win over FC Edmonton at home.
Though kickoff and the start of the second half were both delayed by lightning, and both sides had to survive a torrential first-half downpour, the hosts ultimately got the better of the Eddies thanks to Tabla’s pair of goals within five minutes in the second half.
Tobias Warschewski got Edmonton back into the game late with a stunning free-kick from distance, but his effort would stand as the visitors’ only goal of the afternoon.
