On a sunny Saturday afternoon in Halifax, the HFX Wanderers hosted York United at Wanderers Ground, in a rematch of the opening game of this 2022 CPL season.

Interestingly enough, this game would mirror that opening day clash, too, as after a cagey start from both teams, the Wanderers grabbed a late win thanks to a clinical penalty from Akeem Garcia, snapping a three-game winless run in the process.
