On a sunny Saturday in Langford, British Columbia, Pacific FC played host to York United in a crucial match for both team’s playoff hopes, making for an intriguing ComeOn! Match of the Week.
In a clash between a team looking to hold onto a playoff spot and a team just trying to stay alive, it was going to be interesting to see which team came out on top, especially given some of the results around the Canadian Premier League as of late.
Which, somewhat surprisingly, continued to be the case once again, as York United managed to overcome going down 1-0 in the first half to pick up a crucial 3-1 win, doing so off the back of three second half goals to stun Pacific, who are typically one of the best teams in the CPL at home.
Now, as a result, York remains very much in the playoff race, while Pacific is looking a little closer behind their shoulder than they were a few weeks ago, as an exciting race to the end of the CPL regular season continued on Saturday.
