Valour FC today announce the club has signed Canadian defender Nassim Mekideche.

Mekideche, 22, joins Valour FC from CS Hammam-Lif (Tunisian Ligue 2).

“Nassim has a huge margin to progress,” said Valour FC Head Coach & GM Phillip Dos Santos. “We think he has the potential to be one of the best centre backs in this league in the future. He’s strong on the ball, understands the position, reads the game well and has a lot of ambition.”

Dos Santos added: “He’s a player that has a lot of qualities, athletically but also on the ball. He’s a hard-nosed defender and I think I like that. I like defenders that know they have to defend well first, and then yes, the rest is important, the ability to be on the ball is important… He’s domestic as well, so for us there was so many good things about him that it was hard for us not to do it.”
