York United goalkeeper Niko Giantsopoulos has launched a podcast all about, you guessed it, goalkeeping and the stresses, mistakes & specific memories that come with the role.
“The Last Line: A Goalkeeper’s Podcast” went live Thursday with three episodes and three star guests – Canadian women’s national team netminders Erin McLeod and Stephanie Labbé and former English Premier League star Shaka Hislop.

In episode one, Giantsopoulos chats with Labbé about what it takes to be a top ‘keeper, her love of other sports, and candid dialogue about depression and mental health following the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Giantsopoulos, 26, has made six appearances in the CPL – all of which with his former club, Cavalry FC. A native of Markham, Ont., Giantsopoulos returned to Ontario this November when he signed a two-year contract with York United.
