York United’s Thomas Vincensini named Allstate CPL Goalkeeper of the Month for August 2024

GKOTM — August 2024

York United’s Thomas Vincensini has been named the Allstate Canadian Premier League Goalkeeper of the Month for August 2024.

Vincensini becomes the first Canadian Premier League goalkeeper to be honoured twice this season as the Allstate Goalkeeper of the Month, having also received the honour for his performances in June. In four matches during August, the 30-year-old kept two clean sheets, and made eight saves.

In particular, the York goalkeeper was outstanding in a 1-0 victory over Valour FC in Winnipeg on August 11. He made three saves in that match, including a penalty stop on Shaan Hundal, and came off his line to make several key clearances while also launching the counter-attack that led to York’s goal.

Besides Vincensini, Forge’s Chris Kalongo (April), Vancouver FC’s Callum Irving (May) and Cavalry’s Marco Carducci (July) have all been Allstate Goalkeepers of the Month this season.
