Paths to Glory

The Canadian Championship is an annual tournament organized by Canada Soccer and is contested by professional Soccer teams across Canada. The winner is awarded the Voyageurs Cup and qualified for got Concacaf Champions League. This year’s tournament final will be played between the CPL champions and the top MLS representative (one of Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, or  Montreal Impact).

TOURNAMENT FORMATS

CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2020 CPL Champion will face the top team from MLS in the Canadian Championship final. The winner of the Canadian Championship qualifies for the 2021 Concacaf Champions League.

CANADIAN PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2020 CPL Champion earns a berth in the 2021 Concacaf League, and a spot in the finals of the 2020 Canadian Championship.

CONCACAF LEAGUE

The Concacaf League features 22 teams in a knockout cup with each round having two legs. The top six teams in the 2020 Concacaf League qualify for the 2021 Concacaf Champions League.

CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The winner of the 2021 Concacaf Champions League is expected to compete against other continental champions at the FIFA Club World Cup 2021 in China

FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP

The 2021 FIFA Club World Cup will be contested by 24 clubs from the six continental confederations. The tournament will be the first under a new format and will take place in China.
