We do things differently here at the Canadian Premier League.
So when rock-n-roll icons KISS reached out to the Canadian Premier League to see if we were eager to infuse the unique energy and passion of our clubs, players and fans into the Canadian leg of the rockers #EndOfTheRoad tour, we quickly set about trying to find a colourful, bold way to showcase Canadian soccer’s new voice to the tens of thousands of fans attending the Montreal and Toronto concerts for KISS’s final world tour.
The Canadian Premier League’s latest video is a celebration of the young, raw, and edgy spirit of our inaugural season as Canada’s professional soccer league. It’s something entirely new inspired by something old that we love; just like all the best music is, just like all the best football stars are.
Just as we blend fashion into the world of soccer, music has also played a huge role in the culture of the beautiful game, and KISS is iconic for both their legendary hit songs and for their unique painted faces; our fans embraced that look in a creative way, showing off their love for their Canadian Premier League clubs through unique, club-inspired face paint designs.
The opportunity to have this video aired in the exciting environment of Montreal’s Bell Centre and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena was about celebrating and sharing our passion of the CPL in a unique, dynamic way.
In the crowd at the Toronto concert were York9 players Joseph Di Chiara, Austin Ricci, and Nathan Ingham along with Forge FC’s Kadell Thomas.
“You grow up hearing them on the radio and hearing stories of their tours – for me to be able to see them at their End of the Road World Tour is indescribable.” Ingham told CanPL.ca.
We hope all our supporters, new and old, continue to embrace our new league, bringing the same attitude, passion, and desire to be different that has seen this league transform into a movement from coast-to-coast.
