Rob Gale was left more than pleased with his team’s showing on the first day of pre-season training.
As CPL clubs prepare for the inaugural campaign kicking off on April 27, Gale’s Valour side is hard at work getting into tip-top shape.
While signed players and trialists alike come together in Winnipeg, Gale hinted that even bigger acquisitions – a “big fish” signing, as it were – could be on the horizon.
He also affirmed his “young” and “hungry” squad is already expressing its new identity.
“Just based on the testing alone we’re going to be a quick team, which is exactly the DNA we’re looking for,” Gale said. “We’re already seeing the camaraderie, which is what we’re trying to build straight away from Day 1 because it’s very important to us. I talked about the character and intelligence of these lads and now we’re going to start harnessing that into our team, our work ethic and our ethos.”
