LAVAL – Day 1 of the Canadian Premier League’s #GotGame Open Trials in Quebec has come to a close, with more than 200 prospective professional soccer players showing off their skills in the hopes of catching the attention of the league’s head coaches in order to move on to Day 2 and, potentially, onto a CPL roster.
Trial lead coach and Montreal native Alex Bunbury was on scene, putting the players through their paces as the CPL’s coaches whittled down the list to 58 remaining trialists for a second day featuring 11-v-11 scrimmages. And, with the fields in Laval at full capacity, Bunbury was left more than impressed with the talent on offer.
