Saskatchewan soccer fans have gotten another peek at what a potential stadium could look like in Saskatoon.

Living Sky Sports and Entertainment, owners of exclusive rights to an expansion CPL club in the city, posted an updated rendering this weekend, showing the proposed stadium set to be located at Prairieland Park, which hosts such events as the annual Saskatoon Exhibition and Western Canadian Crop Production Show.

The image, taken from a south-east angle, shows covered seating up either sideline leading to a larger north-end stand, with the South Saskatchewan River rolling on in the background.

Previously, LSSE said engineers have suggested the stadium based at Marquis Downs adopt a north-south orientation rather than east-west.

LSSE’s bid, led by Al Simpson, is contingent on building a soccer-specific stadium that meets League standards.

With a population of 246,376, Saskatoon is the largest city in the province and is the home of the University of Saskatchewan, and the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League.
