This Season’s Predictor Game has a $20,000 Prize

The third iteration of the Canadian Premier League’s award-winning Predictor contest launched on Wednesday ahead of the league’s milestone fifth season, backed by a new sponsor and including a perfect prediction prize of $20,000, the most valuable award in contest history.

The Predictor contest can be played at canpl.ca/predictor or through the League’s Centre Circle App. It is presented this year by international online gaming company Tonybet, which was announced as the CPL’s Official Sports Betting and Online Casino Partner earlier on Wednesday.

Each week, Predictor participants will be asked to make four predictions for each CPL match, for a total of sixteen questions weekly. Participants will be asked to predict the result of each match, which team will score first, in what minute the first goal will be scored and how many total goals there will be. Points will be awarded based on the likelihood of the predicted outcomes. Each week, one match will be featured as the Match of the Week. Participants will receive additional points for each correct answer about that designated match.

Predictor participants also will vie for unprecedented prizing in 2023, with three ways to win.

The Perfect Prediction Prize of $20,000 is up for grabs to Predictor participants for the first time this season. If a participant answers all sixteen questions correctly in any given week of the contest, they will be eligible to win this year’s cash prize.

Predictor participants may also win the grand prize, a trip for two to the 2023 CPL Final, through consistent play throughout the year. Participants get points for each correct prediction throughout the season, and the person with the most points at the end of the contest will join the CPL at this year’s League Final in October.

Throughout the season, Predictor’s weekly points leader may also be randomly selected to win a prize.

“We are thrilled to launch the CPL’s Predictor contest for a third season, with Tonybet joining us as the contest’s new presenting partner,” said Tidiane Bah, the CPL’s Director of Marketing.

“Predictor is another fun way for us to engage with our fans, and for our fans to engage with the action throughout the season. We look forward to seeing how things play out over the course of the season and will be watching just as closely as we watch what’s happening on the field.”

This year’s Predictor contest will run from Wednesday, April 12, ahead of the League’s opening day on Saturday, April 15, through the final weekend of the regular season. For full contest rules, click here. For more information about the CPL’s Centre Circle App, click here.
