Pacific FC forward Issey Nakajima-Farran – dubbed The Most Interesting Man in Canadian Soccer – is ready to give back to the people of Vancouver Island, and to Canada as a whole.

The well-travelled attacker, now 35, enters a Pacific FC team at the very beginning of its story, just as Nakajima-Farran is considering the final chapters of his own.

Speaking to CanPL.ca while in the Dominican Republic for pre-season training, the Canadian international reflected on his journey – both in the recent past, and for the upcoming weeks – and offered that his service to his country, which was once expressed on the national team, has now evolved into that of service to a new generation of Canadian talents.

“I still feel I have more to give to the game, and that’s really to rub off onto the players, whatever I do, and to the footballing culture,” Nakajima-Farran said. “I feel like I owe Canada what they have given me, all the national team appearances and experiences – I really have something to give back.”

He added: “For me, and for many of us, this is the best job in the world.”
