5 details you may have missed from 2021 Macron kits

A full slate of fresh “Community” kits arrived for all eight clubs on Monday ahead of the 2021 Canadian Premier League campaign.

Expected to make their on-field debuts during the league’s first two regular-season matches on June 26, each kit features homage designs that uniquely represent the community each club calls home.

Following plenty of excitement for the season amongst supporters after Saturday’s announcement, today’s unveiling will surely create plenty of buzz within kit-loving circles.

Here are five of the standout details featured on the 2021 CPL community kits.

Cavalry FC tip hat to Fort Calgary

The Cavs stayed true to their ‘regiment’ roots in featuring both Fort Calgary (back) and Colonel James McLeod (front) on their latest kit.

Featuring a fresh green trim, Cavalry has retained their predominantly red jerseys while giving the ‘21 edition some subtle new details to better represent the city they call home.

York United reveal second jersey following rebrand

The Nine Stripes underwent a rebrand this past December and released a blue and green striped kit to reflect their new identity. To complete the new pairing, York rolled out a predominantly white top featuring an injection of ‘York Green’ and ‘Lake Ontario Blue’ which provides consistency in the two kits as the club enters a new chapter in the 2021 season.

Wanderers draw inspiration from Flag of Nova Scotia

Wanderers newest kit features a Lion Rampant on the front of the jersey — the same symbol front and centre on the Flag of Nova Scotia with a colourway similar to the club’s 19/20 Away kit, the blue top is a real eye-catcher and

Forge boasts Gold Champions Badge for second season running

The Hammers left last year’s Island Games as CPL Champions for the second consecutive campaign and as such will once again sport a Gold Champion Patch on their 2021 kit. If the humble brag of recognizing their past success wasn’t enough to get Forge supporters excited about the new kit, perhaps the fiery dragon featured on the front of the jersey should do the trick.

Atlético Ottawa add sponsor for sophomore season

Sticking with the red and white stripes of parent club Atlético Madrid, Ottleti’s 2021 kit features a sleeker collar than their inaugural home kit while retaining the large red Maple Leaf on the back of the top to celebrate their Canadian roots. Ottawa also has a new sponsor on the front of their kit this season in ComeOn! — the official sports betting site and official partner of the CPL.
